You may notice a slight change in the scope of review comments for LEED v4/v4.1 BD+C/ID+C MR credits Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), Sourcing of Raw Materials, and Material Ingredients, as well as EQ credit Low-Emitting Materials recently. Moving forward, once projects achieve the threshold requirements for the credit (e.g., LEED v4.1 BD+C: NC MRc EPD: 20 weighted products, sourced from at least five different manufacturers) or the threshold for the category attempted (e.g., LEED v4 EQc Low-Emitting Materials: at least 90% of all flooring, by cost or surface area) it will be awarded.

Due to the evolution of the materials market, and the recent influx of higher quality submissions, the same depth of review is no longer required to support market transformation. Additionally, due to the changes made to these credits with LEED v4.1 Addenda, many teams are reaching Exemplary Performance thresholds. Experienced project teams may now find they can submit less documentation to achieve these credits, which saves everyone time and resources.
