Trusted verification for sustainability actions

CAGBC offers high-quality, trusted, and rigorous third-party certifications designed to help guide and verify your investments in sustainability. CAGBC acts as a certification and credentialing body, exclusively administering project certifications for Zero Carbon Building StandardsLEEDInvestor Ready Energy Efficiency (IREE) and TRUE. Backed by CAGBC’s knowledgeable team of building experts, our complementary rating systems offer projects constructive, certified approaches to better protect human health and well-being and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Why certify?

Green building certification offers a design perspective to guide decision-making and ensure sustainability principles are built into projects. Measures can be also certified annually by collecting and reporting building performance metrics for third-party verification to support environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.

Zero Carbon Building Standards

The Zero Carbon Building™ (ZCB) Standards are a made-in-Canada solution for reducing carbon in building design and operations. With the rigour and flexibility needed for all building types to reduce their climate impact, these Standards recognize the importance of building emissions in efforts to reach Canada’s climate commitments.

LEED

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED™ is an internationally recognized rating system that stands for sustainability and green building excellence. LEED certification signifies a building conserves resources, reduces operating costs, prioritizes sustainable practices, lowers carbon, and creates a healthier environment.

Investor Ready Energy Efficiency

Investor Ready Energy Efficiency™ (IREE) certification reduces transaction costs, streamlines projects and increases confidence in retrofit outcomes, making retrofits more attractive to building owners and investors.

TRUE

The TRUE™ certification program helps facilities define, pursue and achieve zero waste goals. It encourages the adoption of sustainable resource management and waste reduction practices that contribute to better environmental, health and economic outcomes. With TRUE certification, projects have a pathway to reach their waste diversion goals.

Get recognition for your sustainability efforts.
