Fraud Alert

CAGBC Staff on February 23, 2024

It has come to our attention that the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC) website has been replicated by fraudsters. They copied our website content and set up fake versions of our conference, Building Lasting Change, and our Accelerating to Zero series.

Calling themselves the “Green Trading Council,” they are using our intellectual property, images, and trademarks without permission. We understand that they are reaching out to businesses and seeking financial support for their fake “conferences,” using the Building Lasting Change name.

Please be assured that the CAGBC website was not compromised, and no private or personal data was exposed. We continue to operate normally and you will be able to make transactions safely and securely on the cagbc.org website. We have notified the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre to report this activity and are taking further steps with legal counsel, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to rectify this situation.

Should you be contacted by this organization, please alert info@cagbc.org. If you receive a communication that appears to come from CAGBC or mimics CAGBC’s brands or events and you are in doubt of its legitimacy, please forward it to info@cagbc.org and we will be happy to confirm with you.

CAGBC would like to remind our members and stakeholders to always be alert when providing personal or financial information. Communications for Building Lasting Change will come from enews@cagbc.org, or directly from CAGBC employees using the cagbc.org domain. Legitimate information about Building Lasting Change can be found at cagbc.org/blc OR by visiting the official Building Lasting Change conference web platform at https://harlowagency.swoogo.com/BLC2024.

Building Lasting Change will take place in Toronto, on June 5-6, 2024. There are no other Building Lasting Change events in or outside of Canada.
