Corporate membership options

CAGBC corporate members include companies from across the building sector, from investors and owners to firms involved in building design, construction, operations and more. All corporate member employees get access to valuable resources, including cutting-edge standards and access to training opportunities designed to support sustainability goals. CAGBC membership is your ticket to a green building community that offers support, guidance, peer engagement, and a wealth of knowledge.

Green Building Advocate

Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability. 

Advocates are companies and organizations that recognize the value of green building and want to support sustainability, but do not directly use CAGBC’s certification services. Advocates members are manufacturers, retailers, building tenants, government departments, utilities, academic or research institutions, industry associations, and other NGOs.  

Advocate members benefit from: 

  • Joining a community growing demand for green building services, products, and spaces.   
  • Curated learning experiences that enhance professional development and expertise.   
  • Access to research that informs market insights and leadership.   
  • Cross-sector accelerator groups and advocacy that shape the industry.   
  • Opportunities to sponsor and/or speak at events.  

Employees of corporate member companies are included under the company membership. Simply apply as a corporate member employee and select the company name to access membership benefits. 

Green Building Specialist

Design, build and manage green buildings.  

Specialists are companies and organizations that design, construct, own and operate green buildings. They depend on CAGBC’s certification programs and services and technical expertise to unlock the value of green buildings to meet sustainability and business goals. Specialists include building owners, tenants, engineers, architects, designers, developers, contractors, builders, real estate brokers or managers, and government departments.  

Specialist members benefit from:  

  • Access to rigorous rating systems and standards with support provided by Canadian experts.  
  • CAGBC-designed courses that advance LEED and Zero Carbon Building expertise.   
  • Market insights and technical bulletins that unlock barriers to green buildings.   
  • Eligibility to participate on CAGBC Technical Advisory Groups, Steering Committees, faculty, and task forces.   
  • Connecting with industry peers and leaders while contributing to meaningful discussions at CAGBC Accelerators.   
  • Savings through member rates on project registration and certification fees.

Options for Individual Membership

Individuals can apply to be CAGBC members and benefit from being part of Canada’s green building community.  

Corporate member employee 

If you are employed by an Advocate or Specialist member company, you have access to the benefits attributed to their company’s membership type. When applying, select your employer’s name.   

Individual membership

People not employed by a corporate member can join as an individual. All individual members can access member-only pricing for CAGBC courses and events, develop professional connections and stay on top of industry news and developments. 

CAGBC also offers a student membership for those enrolled in full-time studies.
