The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) have announced the 2026 class of LEED Fellows, recognizing 21 professionals from around the world for their expertise, leadership and contributions to advancing green building practices.
Canada is represented in this year’s class by three distinguished professionals and CAGBC corporate members Charline Cormier of Eastpoint and Nadia Bini of Menkès Shooner Dagenais LeTourneux Architectes, and CAGBC individual member Hamoda Youssef of Regeneology LTD.
The LEED Fellow designation is the highest recognition available to LEED professionals. It recognizes individuals who have demonstrated expert-level technical knowledge and a sustained record of leadership, commitment and service to the green building movement. Candidates are nominated by their peers and undergo a rigorous review by a committee of current LEED Fellows before finalists are recommended to the GBCI Board of Directors.
Recognizing Canadian leadership in green building
Canada has a long history of leadership in the LEED community, with professionals across architecture, engineering, consulting, real estate and other disciplines contributing to the growth and evolution of green building practice. This year’s three Canadian Fellows reflect that breadth of expertise and demonstrate the range of ways professionals are advancing sustainability through the built environment.
All three fellows have each contributed to Canada’s green building community through their engagement with CAGBC. Charline Cormier has been a CAGBC chapter volunteer and served as a technical committee member of the Materials Technical Advisory Group (TAG). Nadia Bini has engaged with CAGBC through events, regularly contributing thoughtful questions and perspectives. Hamoda Youssef has contributed to CAGBC’s learning and education programs, including delivering a session on resilience and LEED v5 while with Climate First.
A milestone for Canada’s LEED community
The LEED Fellow designation represents more than technical expertise. It recognizes professionals who have contributed to the growth of the green building movement through leadership, education, advocacy, service, and the application of LEED in practice.
CAGBC congratulates Nadia Bini, Charline Cormier and Hamoda Youssef on this significant professional achievement and recognizes their contributions to advancing sustainable building practices in Canada and beyond.
The 2026 LEED Fellows will be formally recognized in New York City on October 21 during the USGBC Leadership Awards Celebration, held as part of the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo.
