Building Lasting Change (BLC) is where business and technical expertise converge to explore the latest sustainable development within the green building sector.

On Day 1 of the conference, join us for a look at CAGBC’s latest initiatives and why they matter. During the opening plenary and lunch, CAGBC President and CEO Thomas Mueller and special guests will share their perspectives on the critical trends shaping the green building sector. Following lunch, attendees can participate in forums exploring issues from decarbonization and transition planning, to sustainable and affordable development, LEED v5 development, and the launch of the newest version of the Zero Carbon Building – Design Standard. Check out our Agenda Overview for full forum descriptions and check back regularly for exciting updates to conference programming.

Education will take centre stage on Day 2. During the Plenary sessions, we’ll explore the convergence of global and regional trends and where Canada’s building sector needs to focus. Choose from two dynamic streams covering business and technical perspectives or mix and match sessions to create your custom learning experience.

The Business Stream

Carbon emissions are a critical business priority requiring decisive action to advance sustainability goals. Sessions in this stream will leverage real-world examples and demonstrate how zero carbon buildings are investment-worthy, resilient to current and future risks, and uniquely positioned to support new business models, affordability and retain value over time.

The Technical Stream

Discover the latest technical best practices and pathways to zero-carbon buildings and retrofits. Participate in discussions on the importance of prioritizing low-carbon solutions at every stage of a building’s life cycle, and examine the proven strategies, tools and considerations that will drive down emissions in your building projects.

Gala Dinner and Celebration

Cap off Day 2 with the Gala Dinner & Celebration recognizing the individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in sustainable building. This year’s Gala will take place at The Arcadian Court.
