Coming to Greenbuild 2011? Do you have questions about a LEED Canada project review, or about the certification process in general?

Stop by Greenbuild’s LEED Certification Work Zone for a chance to meet CaGBC’s LEED staff. The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) is hosting a certification work zone for Greenbuild attendees and CaGBC staff will be on hand to meet with LEED Canada project applicants and address questions about Canadian requirements and certification reviews.

Solar Energy: Best Practices for Residential Buildings
November 8 - Calgary   November 10 - Edmonton

Discover how you can take advantage of solar energy in this one-day workshop! This course is a great opportunity to increase your knowledge of solar energy and understand how it can be used in a residential setting. The workshop covers design, technical, and installation issues and gives you best practices for designing and installing residential solar water heating and photovoltaic systems.

Target AudienceAnyone interested in solar energy for residential applications. This could include homeowners, architects, builders, developers, engineers, technicians/technologists, and real estate professionals.

Workshop objective:  

  • Identify the opportunities for solar energy in residential buildings
  • Understand the design, technical and installation requirements for residential solar thermal and photovoltaic systems
  • Calculate the Return On Investment (ROI) for residential photovoltaic installation
  • Describe the Micro FIT (Feed In Tariff) program and application process
  • Identify other aspects of photovoltaics for future exploration

This workshop, like all CaGBC education programs, meets eligibility requirements for the Green Associate exam.
