Green Associate Study Course   
February 1 & 2 - Edmonton      March 6 & 7- Calgary

The two-day LEED Green Associate study course provides the foundational knowledge for the LEED Green Associate exam. The LEED Green Associate Exam is an introductory-level exam for individuals who wish to demonstrate a general knowledge of LEED and green building practices, or continue on to more advanced LEED credentials, such as LEED AP with specialty. This course is an important element of an individual’s study plan, providing opportunities to gain and test new knowledge through lectures, small and large group activities, and practice test questions. This course is offered in both English and French.

Note: This workshop, like any CaGBC education program, meets eligibility requirements for the Green Associate exam.

Target Audience:

Anyone studying for the LEED Green Associate exam. This may include architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers, real estate agents, product manufacturer representatives, students, and any individuals interested in working in the green building industry.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the LEED credit categories
  • Identify the general concepts, technologies and strategies associated with each credit category
  • Describe the purpose of each LEED rating system
  • Successfully register for the LEED Green Associate exam

Alberta Building Products and Technologies Mission

International Builders Show, February 8-11, Orlando, Florida


Presented by the National Association of Home Builders, the International Builders’ Show is recognized as the largest residential building industry trade show in the world.  An estimated 50,000 delegates and 1,000 exhibitors displaying innovative building products, practices and technologies are expected to attend. The Government of Alberta in cooperation with the Canada Green Building Council-Alberta Chapter will have an exhibit in the Canada Pavilion, and invites your participation.  Visit:  www.buildersshow.com

The Government of Alberta in cooperation with the Canadian Green Building Council, Alberta Chapter has secured exhibit space in the Canada Pavilion at the 2012 International Builders Show in Orlando, and extends an invitation for your company to participate as an Alberta Associate Exhibitor.  

Associate Exhibitor:  (no participation fee)

  • your company literature (25 pieces) will be shipped to IBS and promoted in the Alberta exhibit.

  • a one page profile, as provided by your company (approximately 200 words) will be included in the Alberta IBS 2012 Participants Directory, to be distributed at the event.

Albertans want to be more energy efficient at home

Green building professionals know that Albertans desire more energy efficiency.  C3 has completed research that confirming that at home the barrier is initial cost of some energy-saving measures although they would be willing to pay more monthly to fund future savings.  To see more information on the C3 survey click here.
