Student Poster Competition: Imagining the Future of Green

Submission Guidelines

The Canadian Green Building Council invites student leaders interested in the building and construction sector to submit abstracts for poster presentations. Eligible posters are being sought from a wide array of disciplines related to green building -potential topics of interest including, science, engineering, art, business, etc. It just needs to relate to one of the below four themes.

  1. Meeting Climate Goals with Green Buildings
  2. Wellness and Social Sustainability
  3. Economic Diversification and Innovation in Green Buildings
  4. The Economics of Green Buildings

We invite Student and EGPs to RSVP with their intent to Showcase by completing this online intake here:  Posters must follow submission guidelines, and align with one or more of the following Themes of this year’s Alberta Sustainable Building Symposium.

This Student Poster Competition is dedicated to showcasing the talent, innovation, and creativity of our emerging green professionals (EGPs), and is open to all EGPs currently attending (or recently graduated from) post-secondary institutions across Alberta.

2018 Deadlines

  • First intake of Student Posters April 10 – May 30
  • Second intake of Student Posters May 30 – June 30
  • Third intake of Student Posters September 1 – 15

Voting and Prizes

Voting on the Posters will take place during the ASBS Networking Event as part of the Speed Networking and judged according to the following two criteria. Ratings will be subjective by attendees, and scored by ratio.

  1. Alignment to Vision of “Every Building Greener” – how does this proposed project, initiative, or innovation mobilize the adoption and uptake of greener buildings and sustainability?

  2. Alignment to the ASBS Theme – does this proposed project, initiative, or innovation support Alberta’s Climate Goals, advance Wellness and Social Sustainability, Economic Diversification and Innovation, or demonstrate the economics of green buildings?
