Join Jamie McKay of Morrison Hershfield for this one and a half hour course to learn how new envelope design philosophies have begun to integrate building commissioning goals. Commissioning of the building envelope is a key component to whole building commissioning. By commissioning your envelope assemblies, you are ensuring that the systems are performing and functioning as designed • with a goal of lowering operating costs, improving durability and increasing occupant satisfaction.

This course will explore the basics of Building Envelope Commissioning (BECx) from development of the owner’s project requirements to the post occupancy phase tasks. The course will dive deeper into when and how to pull together the documents to meet the LEED prerequisite / credit requirements.

The instructor will discuss the changes for LEED v4 and v4.1 BD+C Building Envelope Commissioning prerequisite/credit requirements and methods to achieve the credit in Canada. Case studies and specific examples will be used to illustrate the secrets of commissioning the envelope from coast to coast.
