CaGBC would like to congratulate the winners of this year’s NAIOP Greater Toronto Green Award of the Year, Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan Real Estate Inc. (HOOP) and Quinn & Partners, for their submission Advancing sustainability in the real estate with LEAP.
CaGBC’s COO Gayle Maltais was on hand April 3 to present the Green Award of the Year, which is sponsored by the CaGBC. The Award recognizes excellence, innovation and achievement in the area of sustainable real estate projects or practices, initiatives, processes and/or community contributions.
HOOP’s annual Leadership In Environmental Advancement Program (LEAP) honours property managers and tenants for sustainability and environmental stewardship. Categories include building performance, collaboration and innovation. HOOPP works with many partners in the real estate industry across Canada and globally, to lead and advance sustainability practices in the industry.
The 2016 LEAP awards were hosted at its newest LEED® Gold mixed-use development, Marine Gateway in Vancouver. Also this year, HOOPP will move into its new home at One York Street in Toronto, aiming to establish the top standard for environmentally sustainable development by targeting LEED® Platinum certification. All new HOOPP developments will seek this same standard of environmental sustainability.
The NAIOP Greater Toronto chapter represents developers, owners and related professionals in office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate while advancing responsible development and advocating for effective public policy. REX Awards recognize the achievements of people and projects.
