Registering a Zero Carbon Building Standard (ZCB Standard) project is the first step toward earning certification.
ZCB-Design projects register online when prepared to showcase their intent. Receipt of registration payment determines the date of registration. When the project team is prepared to submit documentation for review, the certification fee can be paid online through the project’s profile.
ZCB-Performance projects pay a single fee by registering online when ready to submit their documentation for review.
New projects can now register under ZCB Standard v2. Please note that ZCB-Design v1 registration and ZCB-Performance v1 submissions will end on May 31, 2020. ZCB-Design v1 submissions will be accepted until May 31, 2022.
Project fees are based on a project's certification pathway and size. Fees are not refundable and may change at any time.
LEED Discounts: The Zero Carbon Building Standard is a great compliment to the holistic nature of LEED. To reward projects pursuing both, the CaGBC is providing a 15 per cent discount on the ZCB registration and certification fees for LEED registered projects. Contact customer service for details.
CaGBC Member Discounts: ZCB-Design registration discounts are determined automatically based on the current CaGBC membership status of the person registering the project online. To be eligible for discounts on ZCB-Design and ZCB-Performance fees, the building owner or property management organization must be a current CaGBC Specialist member. For public-private-partnership (P3) design projects, the organization that owns the building or any organization that is a member of the P3 consortium responsible for financing may qualify the project for discounted rates at certification.
