Over the past 14 years, CaGBC has successfully advocated for green building policies with all levels of governments. Municipal leaders have been driving this change by way of green building initiatives that contribute to innovative solutions for municipalities, supported by policies and measurement systems.

Already this year, as a part of our three-year Advocacy Strategy, we’ve met with leaders from across municipal jurisdictions in Canada to help support them in the shift to greener infrastructure and stronger policy. We’ve also released our National Energy Benchmarking, Reporting and Disclosure Guide which was created as a guide for municipalities. Visit to read this report and others.

In this section you will find successful and inspirational municipal projects that have delivered numerous green features and are providing new ways to connect with their communities. These projects encourage individuals to live with and support nature by way of conservation, education and research, while providing a great example for municipalities in all regions throughout Canada.
