National Member Green Building Advocate

Any company with corporate sustainability goals, or an eye on green buildings will benefit from a Green Building Advocate membership. With direct access to many benefits that help demonstrate their support and connect with industry leaders, this is the best way to get involved in this influential industry.

Green Building Advocates are: companies and organizations that actively support the green building industry and want to demonstrate their commitment through CaGBC membership. Usually, Advocates do not require access to LEED® or GBCI CA benefits and are not building owners.

Advocates may include: Manufacturers, retailers, non-owner tenants, government policy departments, utilities, academic or research Institutions, Industry Associations and other NGOs.

Access to critical LEED® information, GBCI CA programs and professional services give Green Building Specialists the tools they need to excel and help lead Canada towards green house gas targets. Chapter Member

Chapter Members fuel the grass root initiatives of Canada's green building communities. They leverage membership to develop professional connections within their local network and tap into the many resources available to them through education, networking events and local conferences.

Chapter Members are: individuals, not companies, who would like to be involved in the green building community at the local level.

Chapter Members may include: anyone interested in green building related to commercial, residential /homes, or neighbourhoods and communities including Emerging Green Professionals *.

Employees of National Members (Advocate or Specialist) are entitled to a free Chapter membership.

Emerging Green Professional (EGP) Member

EGP Members are the creative and outgoing future leaders of Canada’s green building industry. This membership level provides innovative young professionals with a voice, access to continuous learning, unique ways to make connections and opportunities to grow their careers.

EGP members may include: Full-time students, those that are 30 years of age or younger or new to the industry within five years who are committed to building a career in the Green Building industry.

Proof of eligibility will be required. Valid ID includes: Birth certificate, valid driver's license, student card or graduation certificate.

If you are an EGP employed by a National Member (Advocate or Specialist), your Chapter membership fee is complimentary. If you don't know the current status of your company's membership, please browse our list of current members here.

LEED Coach Sessions: If your company registers a LEED project you will be assigned a personal LEED Coach upon registration. A LEED Coach is a member of the CaGBC LEED team who can lead you through the LEED process and serve as a dedicated point of contact if you have questions along the way. If your LEED project is particularly complex or if it is your organizations' first time registering and certifying a LEED project, you may decide your company requires an Enhanced Service Package ($500). This package includes five hours of dedicated guidance scheduled according to your needs.
