University of Alberta Green Building Tours - Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science (CCIS)

Event highlights

Join us for a walking tour of the University of Alberta's Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science. Learn about its many green building features and highlights, including:

•   LEED® Silver and BOMA BEST® Gold
•  3,716 m² terrazo floor is made of recycled glass and gravel refuse from mining projects
•  Variable air volume (VAV) fume hoods require less energy for ventilation when fume hoods are closed and unused
•  Reflective roof keeps building cooler in summer
•  Low-flow fixtures and laboratory vacuum systems conserve water

An extra thanks to the Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) young professionals who will be helping promote and advertise the event.
