Join the Emerging Green Professionals for an engaging evening of online presentations and virtual breakout discussions about the various sources of carbon in the built environment and how industry is evolving to confront the climate crisis. Learn building design strategies to mitigate future emissions, how various carbon-focused standards define a “Zero Carbon” building, and how designers at local projects have been applying these strategies on active projects.


Zina Berrada, Sustainability Coordinator – HCMA Architecture + Design
Zina is committed to integrating sustainable design strategies into architectural design in order to maximize building
performance and optimize occupant comfort. Zina joined HCMA Architecture + Design after completing her Masters in
Sustainable Environmental Design from the AA School of Architecture. She brings a unique skill set to projects that combines creativity and logic and is currently working on a number of pioneering projects aiming to lead the green building industry in North America. Zina has experience implementing a number of diverse green building standards including Passive House, LEED, Zero Carbon Building, and Living Building Challenge. Her understanding of sustainable design as an intrinsic part of architecture allows her to recognize and realize a client’s vision for a truly sustainable design, making her a valuable team member for any project. Zina is also an accredited LEED Green Professional and a Certified Passive House Designer.

Jeremy Field, Sustainability Advisor – Integral Group
Passionate and thoughtful, Jeremy specializes in finding alignment between a project’s goals and the solutions available. He is a strong advocate for resilient, low carbon buildings that marry the ideas of passive design and fundamental sustainability. As an effective communicator and team member, Jeremy possesses the skills to productively facilitate conversations on sustainability. With a background in ecology and four years in the building industry, Jeremy’s diverse experiences allows him to interpret how a project’s objectives can be achieved within applicable codes and policies.
