Event highlights

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into this hands-on, participation-focused workshop on how to report to
Ontario's Energy and Water Reporting and Benchmarking regulation using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. This
workshop is structured to provide participants step by step guidance on how to comply with the Ministry of Energy's
(MOE) energy and water reporting requirements. The guidance provided will range from understanding which buildings need to report, all the way through how to use ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to generate the required submission to the MOE. This workshop will include guided examples of how to report for a range of building types, including office, retail, high-rise residential and industrial.

Participants will learn how to set up their own accounts and building profiles in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, where
to go to gather utility data, and how to enter data once you have it in hand. The benefits of energy and water
benchmarking an the meaning of your building's ENERGY STAR score, as well as other performance metrics for the
regulation will be explored. As a highly interactive workshop, participants will be encouraged to ask questions and will
receive one-on-one support as they work through their Portfolio Manager profiles.

Participants are encouraged to complete the CaGBC's Introduction to Energy Benchmarking and Ontario's Mandatory
Energy Benchmarking for Large Buildings On-Demand courses before participating in this workshop. These courses are
free to registrants of this workshop. To participate in these On-Demand courses, please email for
access instructions. It is also recommended, though not required, that participants create an ENERGY STAR Portfolio
Manager account before the workshop and bring details about their buildings and/or utility data to use as examples.
Instructions for creating an ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager account, as well as other course materials, will be provided in advance of the course through CaGBC Central, our online learning platform.
