Join the CaGBC Atlantic Chapter for a 3-hour interactive workshop on energy benchmarking.
The Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change highlights the importance of energy efficient and low-carbon buildings and communities as essential to building a low-carbon, clean-growth economy. Energy efficiency reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, contributes to lowering energy bills, stimulates innovation, and generates shareholder value and good paying jobs.
Building energy benchmarking, disclosure, and labelling (BDL) programs are identified as a key market transformation strategy in the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate (PCF) and offer numerous potential benefits for provinces, and Canada as a whole. In anticipation of future federal regulatory requirements various government BDL programs have been successfully implemented across Canada in recent years. These programs have offered useful examples for the development of a Nova Scotian pilot.
This CaGBC hosted roundtable will convene key private and public players in NB, NL and PE to learn from the NS Pilot and to work toward identifying concrete market-based measures and supporting public policies to build and grow broader adoption of energy benchmarking programs and supporting policy incentives.
The 3-hour event will include educational presentations and facilitated provincial breakouts
