About Us

Who are we?

The Canada Green Building Council – Ottawa Chapter is the region’s leading authority on green building best practices. Representing 50 firms and over 300 green building professionals our members are involved in virtually every green building construction and renovation project in the region.

We are Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec’s leading source for education, training, and leading-edge green building information and resources. Over the last ten years we have organized hundreds of events and supported individuals in creating one of the most sustainable and beautiful regions in Canada.

What do we do?

We facilitate learning

We are the leading provider of LEED education and green building workshops in Eastern Ontario. We offer a variety of workshops, lunch and learns, tours, special events and webinars throughout the year. These events are catered to meet the needs of experienced and new green building professionals.

We drive change

We work with both government and private enterprise to accelerate the adoption of green building principles, policies, standards and tools. We do this through high profile events that give back to the local community.

We build community

The chapter stands beside and works closely with like-minded organizations in the transformation of buildings, neighborhoods and cities. We do this by engaging members and creating opportunities for collaboration and spaces for creativity and debate. We mobilize and empower local communities to advocate local government for greener buildings, cities and neighbourhoods.

How We Work

The Ottawa Chapter serves many different stakeholders. To ensure we remain relevant to our membership and true to our mission the Chapter relies on two group: The Leadership Advisory Board and the Emerging Green Professional Working Group.
