LEED Green Associate Exam Cram

This highly interactive session allows participants to put their Green Associate exam knowledge to the test before challenging the actual exam. Participants will encounter a variety of question formats in a fast-paced environment, while working both individually and in groups. This session will reinforce existing knowledge, while also providing the opportunity to learn information that may have been missed during earlier studying. Key terms, strategies and reference standards in LEED® v4 will be addressed.

Understanding the WELL Building Standard

This workshop will introduce the concepts, key elements and requirements of the WELL Building Standard, the world’s first building standard focused exclusively on human health and wellness.
Attendees will learn how WELL can be used to support human health and wellness in buildings. The structure and certification process of WELL will be reviewed, as well as the health basis for key WELL Concept Areas. Strategies for improving air, water, nutrition, light, fitness, comfort, and mental health through building design and operations are explored. Case studies are also highlighted.

Building Tour of 220 Portage Ave: a LEED EB: O&M Platinum Building

Join us for lunch to hear from Craig Dunsire, Senior Property Manager at Artis REIT, about their successful LEED EB: O&M certifications for five properties in Winnipeg. Learn what drives their company to pursue certification and what is involved to follow through successfully. After lunch Craig will lead us on a tour of one of their platinum certified buildings – 220 Portage Avenue.
Green Building Jobs 101 - Speed-Networking

This is a networking event with an emphasis on showcasing the variety of green building jobs and is a chance to see the different career options that exist in our industry. Local green building and sustainability professionals will share “what they do” and “how they got there” with students and young professionals from across the province. The event is a “speed-networking” style event where small groups of attendees will have time with each of the industry professionals.
