Manager, Communications & Content Strategy

(15 month contract)

Under the direction of the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, the Manager, Communications and Content Strategy is responsible for the development, management and execution of CaGBC and GBCI CA communications, strategy and e-marketing requirements to support CaGBC and GBCI CA’s strategic plans.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and manage the implementation of communications plans for the CaGBC and GBCI CA in accordance with overall strategic direction
  • Manage the content development including writing, editing and proofing communications and marketing materials for external and internal use
  • Develop and implement communications and media strategies surrounding large launches, changes to CaGBC programs or activities, and the annual Conference
  • Write and distribute all CaGBC news/press releases, media alerts and statements, and act as the primary point of contact for all announcements and media relations/inquiries
  • Communicate the value proposition of CaGBC and GBCI CA to industry, government and the members using new and existing digital mediums to support the development and implementation of both entity’s communications strategy
  • Manage the CaGBC and GBCI CA websites (including oversight of content development , translation and design)
  • Develop and implement the CaGBC social media strategy
  • Create comprehensive monthly media reports that include web, social media and traditional media metrics and quarterly/end of year dashboards/slides
  • Manage the Communications team members, maintaining a positive environment during peak times of the year

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, New Media, Journalism
  • 7+ years progressive experience in communications, social media, media relations, production and website management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills preferably in a business sector and /or government environment
  • Proven experience as a team manager/motivator; ability to build effective internal and external relationships through a collaborative and motivating working style
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Adobe Premiere (or other video editing software), media monitoring platforms, email marketing software, basic HTML, Google Analytics and social network insights (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of environmental issues and/or sustainable development with preferred experience in green building design and construction is an asset
  • Fluency in both official languages is preferred (written and oral).
