Event and Program Delivery Specialist
(BILINGUAL)

You are an energetic and high performance event professional who can interpret strategic direction to deliver creative programming and value-added experiences that help our clients, members and stakeholders deepen their relationship with CaGBC and Green Business Certification Inc. Canada (GBCI CA).

As a member of the CaGBC Client Experience team, you will be involved in planning all event-based programming and will execute on a wide variety of engagement initiatives to raise CaGBC’s brand identity, increase participation and drive market impact with its core audiences. You can effectively work within a small, diverse team while rolling up your sleeves to get things done, seamlessly interact with leaders at all levels of the organization and build relationships with external delivery partners, funders and sponsors. You excel at completing complex tasks quickly, react with urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, embrace ambiguity and deliver results.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, development and delivery of all event-based engagement (virtual and in-person) to support CaGBC’s corporate strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Direct cross-functional teams to define and deliver on an annual event plan including taking a lead role in defining program goals, content curation, logistics and participant engagement.
  • Build and oversee a national delivery framework and event calendar that ensures consistent execution across all event types (conferences, roundtables, forums, workshops etc.) and regions.
  • Work with the appropriate CaGBC teams to develop and execute event promotional strategies.
  • Contribute to the annual implementation of a corporate and event sponsorship model.
  • Develop and analyze key metrics to measure results, determine and monitor budgets, manage timelines and ensure that partner, sponsor and funder deliverables and commitments are achieved.
  • Continuously assess industry, market, and the competitive landscape to drive the vision for innovative new event experiences, programs, best practices and delivery technologies.

Skills

  • A proven track record of designing and executing event programs (in-person and virtual) that resonate with target audiences.
  • Expertise in managing a large event portfolio and high-profile signature events including a national conference and executive leadership forums.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, develop collaborative partnerships, direct cross-disciplinary teams and inspire others to deliver on goals and objectives.
  • Strong financial acumen and results-driven mindset, coupled with strong budgeting, project management, vendor relations and negotiation skills.
  • Polished and professional verbal, interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills and the ability to independently solve problems, offer recommendations and get consensus from others.
  • Aptitude and ability to nurture sponsor, partner and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with non-profit or association operations.
  • Strong computer skills including: Office 365; database applications; and advanced live, virtual and hybrid event management software. Prior experience with PheedLoop or other conference management systems and CRM software (iMIS or similar) is beneficial.
  • Bilingual French and English (verbal and written).

Education and experience

  • Post-secondary education in a related field and 5-7 years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
