The first step toward LEED certification is registering the project with the Canada Green Building Council. Registering early in the development process ensures the maximum potential for high building performance and establishes contact with the CaGBC.

What Does Registration Provide?
LEED project registration provides online access to reference resources and gives the team the ability to submit credit interpretation requests (CIRs). There is a nominal charge for all CIRs.

To register a project
1. Download the appropriate rating system.
2. Review the costs to register and certify
3. Fill out the registration form and submit it.
        - LEED Canada EB:O&M
        - LEED Canada-NC, CS or CI

You will be asked for available project data in the following categories:

  • Project Team
  • Project Information
  • Project Program Data

The information supplied on the registration form will be used by the CaGBC for project tracking, answering credit interpretation requests, and preparing project case studies upon certification. Aggregate data for all registered projects will be used to expand the growing knowledge base of green building costs and trends.

The CaGBC values your privacy and does not provide your information to any third parties.

LEED Canada for Homes registration 

  1. Contact a LEED Canada for Homes Provider (see list below).
  2. Confirm with your chosen Provider that your project is suitable for LEED Canada for Homes.
  3. Register your project with CaGBC through the Provider.
  4. Your registration is complete when CaGBC receives payment of the registration fee.
