Le bâtiment plus vert grâce à la pensée cycle de vie…

Greener buildings, a result of ‘life-cycle’ thinking…
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to a conference addressing the theme of life-cycle analysis and the built environment. When trying to limit negative impacts on the environment, life cycle analysis (LCA) is an evermore present tool facilitating the decision making process for things such as selection of materials, processes, and systems. Having said this, as LCA is a complex tool and bears its share of incertitude, it can be incorrectly interpreted. In order to make wise and fair choices, it is therefore of great importance for professionals to be well informed. The built environment industry is targeted by LCA as it is an important sector where the average Canadian impacts the environment. Opportunities for buildings to reduce their environmental impacts are numerous and can be achieved using means and technologies already available.
This conference, conducted in French, will be presented by Julie-Anne Chayer, senior analyst, and Cécile Bulle, research agent, from the Interuniversity Research Centre for the Life Cycle of Products, Processes and Services (CIRAIG).
