A young professional is someone within 5 years of graduation. An EGB can also be a student or someone 30 years of age or younger. Students may join the Alberta Chapter at a discounted rate and take advantage of networking and professional development opportunities.

- Congratulations to the winner of the Alberta Chapter - CaGBC Emerging Green Builders Design Competition 2009 - Team The Seven Elements. The Seven Elements was made of of an integrated team of architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical emerging green builders (EGB's). Congratulations to David James, Janice Mills, Steven Chu, Carson Gemmill, Jessica Dorion and Amisha Pope, all of Cohos Evamy integratedesign on their achievement. In addition a special note of congratulations goes to the team mentor, Beatriz Vorontsov also of Cohos Evamy integratedesign. The Seven Elements receive four full delegate program registrations for the CaGBC Summit 2009 in Montreal, June 9-11, as well as $800 per team member for travel expenses.
The second place team, Urban Earth Development, made up of Channing McRae and Xiangyan Tan - Williams Engineering, Andrew Nocente - ONPA, and Mike Johnson - Kasian receive $500. And the third place team Avant-Garden, made up of Tyler Dixon and Tai Ziola - Newstudio and Amie Chaotakoongite and Quenton Kusiek - Williams Engineering receive $250. All entries in the competition will be published in a single volume by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
All entries in the EGB Emerging Green Builders Design Competition 2009 were displayed at the 12th Annual Sustainable Building Symposium. - The Alberta Emerging Green Builders are very pleased to announce the Transitional Biohousing Design Competition!
Entrants must be Emerging Green Builders (students, professionals with less than 5 years experience, OR under 30) and have membership as such in their local chapter.
The competition closes on April 17, 2009 and winners will be announced at the Sustainable Building Symposium May 5 - 7, 2009.
