Healthier Environments: Furniture Leading the Way

DURATION: 1 HOUR

Finding furniture that meets regulatory requirements, while also being environmentally preferable, is often not an easy task. However, purchasing furniture without unnecessary chemicals is a cost-neutral or even cost-saving option and makes a great sustainability story for your organization. Newly developed tools and a detailed case study will be made available to assist course attendees to identify and procure safer furnishings. What's more, Canada is considering a furniture flammability standard that could promote the use of flame retardant chemicals. Join us to find out what is currently known about this potential new standard.

This course was delivered by Jean Hansen of HDR Architecture, Alvaro Casanova of the Center for Environmnetal Health, and Kyle Cahil of Blue Shield Blue Cross MA.
