Our theme this year is Beyond Buildings: The Green City. Many cities in Canada would like to accelerate their sustainability agenda through green building, neighbourhood revitalization, affordable housing and sustainable infrastructure development. These strategies are complemented by alternative transportation choices, restoration of the natural environment, food security, resilience and green jobs. This year’s Conference brings together the best thinkers, practitioners and decision-makers to have an open discussion about making The Green City become a reality.

How does attending the 2012 Conference benefit you?

Networking

The CaGBC Conference & Expo brings over 1000 attendees together with a100+ booth tradeshow which makes it the easiest way for you and your business to connect with everyone in the Canadian green building industry. Whether it’s on the tradeshow floor, during an education session, at one of our receptions, or at the gala dinner – your registration gives you access to your industry peers and invites collaboration and the exchange of new ideas.

Innovative speakers and thought leaders

Each year the Conference showcases the best speakers from around the world who bring knowledge, innovation and inspiring ideas to the green building table.

We have a great line-up this year, including Ken Greenberg – architect, urban designer and author of “Walking Home: the Life and Lessons of a City Builder”; Dr. Ray Cole, Director of the University of British Columbia School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture; and a Gala Dinner Keynote address by humanitarian and activist Stephen Lewis, among many others. For more information on the speakers, visit our website.

Relevant educational content

As the largest green building event each year in Canada, the CaGBC National Conference & Expo is also the best source of relevant educational content for the green building and sustainability industry. When you attend this in June, your registration gives you access to a great variety of education sessions. This year, many of them are focused on helping you learn how your city can be transformed into a vibrant, sustainable community. The educations streams are:
