 Continuing Education accreditation - GBCI and OAA
Many of the sessions and tours are GBCI-approved for Continuing Education (CE) hours. These hours will be reported directly to GBCI on your behalf upon completion of approved Conference sessions. Applicable CE hours are listed for each approved session in the program listing below.
The Conference also qualifies for continuing education learning hours through the OAA, and self-directed learning hours with the RAIC.Please contact your local architect’s association to verify eligibility in jurisdictions other than Ontario.

The following six streams will be presented at the 2012 Conference.
1. The Greenest Cities: Planning, Policies and Implementation Growing Canadian The Greenest Cities: Planning, Policies and Implementation sustainably. Best examples of green cities, green building and infrastructure strategies/systems, urban resilience to climate change (adaptive, resource-efficient buildings and infrastructure);
2. Beyond Zero: Next Generation Buildings and Communities Getting to positive impacts. Leading new & existing buildings, homes and communities (e.g. LEED, Living Buildings, net zero, carbon neutral, regenerative); Information on key approaches/strategies, actual performance, value, and business case;
3. Revitalizing Existing Neighbourhoods: Buildings and Infrastructure Large scale transformation. Examples of neighbourhood scale retrofits of buildings and infrastructure, district energy, water and waste systems, renewable/low carbon energy choices; financing, governance, performance assessment, and resident engagement;
4. Advances in Building Performance Management Continuously improving existing buildings. Leading retrofit projects, best operations practices; measurement/verification approaches and results, engagement strategies for tenants/occupants;
5. Innovation in Greening Homes and Affordable Housing Moving beyond the checklist. Higher performance standards for new home constructions (low and high rise); home retrofit programs and projects; financing, consumer research/market information;
6. The Green Building Industry: Markets, Technologies/Products, Jobs and Trade Green is good for the economy. Market research on green real estate (commercial/residential); the green economy: what it means for green building (size, structure, jobs, growth areas), trade opportunities and approaches; focus on leading Canadian products & technologies; examples of real world applications and successes.
