Nomination deadline - February 27
Do you want to capture the attention of the greenbuilding community and join a distinguished group of industry professionals that are paving the way for the continued transformation of the built environment towards sustainability?
The Alberta Chapter has openings for three new Directors. Any Alberta Chapter member in good standing may be nominated, although nominations from the Northern Region (Red Deer North) of the province are encouraged to ensure a balanced representation across Alberta.
Nominations are or three year terms and close on Monday, February 27, 2012. Voting by members in good standing will take place electronically between February 29 and March 9, 2012, with the results announced at the Chapter's Annual General Meeting in Calgary on March 14, 2012.
Over the past three years, the Alberta Chapter has broadened its membership and board and would like to continue to add to its diversity. We welcome participation from all areas; involvement of professionals from the following categories is sought for continued success of the chapter.
- Building owners, managers, realtors and tenants (private and public)
- Retail, construction and products
- Professional firms
- Non-profit organizations and trade associations
- Utilities
- Financial and support services
- Academia, research and policy
Role of the Chapter Board
- Participates in the development of Chapter goals
- Sets Chapter policy and serves as a forum for public debate on key issues that affect the industry
- Oversees the work of the chapter committees
- Allocates resources i.e., approving the budget
- Identifies and recruits members and leaders
- Hires, evaluates and supports staff resources, as appropriate
- Maintains adequate structure and governance to carry out the Chapter goals
- Promotes membership in CaGBC

Alberta Building Products and Technologies Mission to
International Builders Show

Presented by the National Association of Home Builders, the International Builders’ Show is recognized as the largest residential building industry trade show in the world. An estimated 50,000 delegates and 1,000 exhibitors displaying innovative building products, practices and technologies are expected to attend. The Government of Alberta in cooperation with the Canada Green Building Council-Alberta Chapter will have a exhibit in the Canada Pavilion, and invites your participation.

The Government of Alberta in cooperation with the Canadian Green Building Council, Alberta Chapter has secured exhibit space in the Canada Pavilion at the 2012 International Builders Show in Orlando, and extends an invitation for your company to participate as an Alberta Associate Exhibitor.
Associate Exhibitor: (no participation fee)
- your company literature (25 pieces) will be shipped to IBS and promoted in the Alberta exhibit.
- a one page profile, as provided by your company (approximately 200 words) will be included in the Alberta IBS 2012 Participants Directory, to be distributed at the event.
