Board

Andrew Bond

CFMS Alberta Limited
Seat: Director

With a passion for the built environment, the sustainable construction is Andrew’s career of choice. From a young age he has investigated tunnels, journeyed canals and studied buildings from Vienna to Vancouver.  Experimenting with solar panels and home-made turbines, renewables and controls have also figured large in his interests.  Today that excitement is channelled into delivering sustainable projects that are sustainable, affordable and exceed client requirements.  With over 30 LEED projects complete or underway he has rapidly developed a breadth of experience and knowledge.

John Bulmer

City of Medicine Hat
Seat: Director

John, a professional engineer with the City of Medicine Hat, has more than 20 years’ experience in the municipal environment. He is committed to achieving tangible change, often by pushing the envelope. Managing more than $140 million annually in capital expenditures, John actively pursues improved sustainability initiatives in Medicine Hat’s new subdivisions.

In his professional life and for the Alberta Chapter, CaGBC, John advocates for the broader view of “green.” Rather than focusing on green buildings, John’s vision encompasses green development on which sustainable living and sustainable communities are based.

Her Masters of Architecture from Yale University and subsequent work history reaffirmed her passion for sustainability in the built environment. Lydia is currently Assistant Editor of Urban Integration, a Yale School of Architecture publication, and coordinator of the Alberta Chapter’s Calgary Emerging Green Builders (EGBs).

Seat: Director

William’s first interest in green buildings came when I was given and read a copy of Natural Capitalism by Paul Hawken and Amory & Hunter Lovins.  He was still a student at the time, but determined that he wanted to direct his career toward working on green building.  After graduating, he worked at Busby Perkins + Will where he was closely involved in the documentation of Canada’s first LEED Platinum Certified multi-family residential project.  Since the first LEED project he has been involved in over 40 LEED Certified or candidate projects throughout Canada.  Currently, William instructs courses and workshops on LEED for Mount Royal University and frequently lectures on Sustainable Design at SAIT Polytechnic.
