Project Fees

Registration and certification fees remain unchanged for LEED v4.

Registration fees are paid at the time of registration. A project is considered registered when payment of the registration fee is received.

Certification fees are paid when the project's documentation is submitted. A project is considered submitted when payment and the documentation package are received; rates are determined by the later of the two. Certification fees should be calculated using the Certification fee submittal form, which must be completed and enclosed with payment.

Registration and certification fees are not refundable and may change at any time. Prices do not include taxes. LEED for Homes pricing is available here.

Notes regarding Registration:

  • Member discounts for Registration are determined automatically based on the current CaGBC membership status of the person registering the project online.

Notes regarding Certification:

  • To be eligible for member discounts on Certification fees, the organization that owns the building (or which occupies the space, in the case of commercial interiors) must be a current Specialist member of the CaGBC. The following exceptions apply:
    • Public-private-partnerships (P3): the organization which owns the building or any organization that is a member of the P3 consortium responsible for financing of the project may qualify the project for member rates. Applies to the LEED Canada NC, CS and CI rating systems.
    • Managed and operated under contract: the organization which owns or is responsible for the ongoing management and operation of the building may qualify the project for member rates. Applies to the LEED Canada EB:O&M rating system.
  • Project buildings (or spaces, in the case of commercial interiors) that are owned by government and non-profit organizations, as well as all education and healthcare facilities, are eligible for a 10% discount on certification fees. The owner is defined as the organization holding title to the project building and recognized by law as having rights, responsibilities, and ultimate control over the building. The 10% discount is applied to the member or non-member rates stated below, as applicable.

Notes regarding energy simulations:
LEED Canada-NC 1.0 and LEED Canada-CS 1.0 projects have the option of requesting an energy simulation review from a third party or asking the CaGBC to perform the review. When requesting the CaGBC conducts the review, an additional fee of $4500 (plus taxes) is required on top of the certification fee. Fees are to be paid when the documentation is submitted for certification review.

If requesting a review of more than one energy simulation (such as a multiple building project), the additional fee is required for each simulation.

Fees apply to initial certification and recertification projects. For LEED Canada EB:O&M projects of two or more buildings using the certification pathways offered by the Application Guide for Multiple Building Projects in LEED Canada EB:O&M, the costs are calculated at the regular cost for the largest building, plus the incremental cost of each additional building, where each additional building receives a 50% discount.
