Higher Education Program

Since the LEED rating system was first introduced in Canada over 12 years ago, the green building industry has skyrocketed. This growth has created demand for skilled workers in all related fields, and for post-secondary education that trains those professionals to join this growing market.

The CaGBC's Higher Education Program works with Canadian institutions to help prepare college and university students in meeting this growing demand.

What our Higher Ed Students are saying:

"Since becoming a LEED Green Associate I have moved into new roles within my organization directly related to the environmental sector. Earning the credential gave me the knowledge I needed to handle the additional responsibilities I encounter related to the green building sector."

- Joel Goy, Electrical E.I.T., University of Saskatchewan

What our Higher Ed Institutions are saying:

"These courses contribute to the long-term success of the students in ways that go beyond the curriculum. One of the things I have found most valuable is that professionals engage together to think creatively about sustainability problems. These courses also impart the vocabulary of green design, positioning students to dive deeper into the conversation in their employment and their communities."

– Rodney Wilts, J.D. LEED AP, Partner, BuildGreen Solutions, CaGBC Higher Education Instructor
