Emerging Green Builders Committee: Apply now!

The BC Chapter of Canada Green Building Council [CaGBC] is calling out for passionate members of the green building community to join its Emerging Green Builders Committee. The deadline for applications is November 3rd, 2016.

Who are Emerging Green Builders?

Emerging Green Builders (EGBs) are the next generation of Canada’s green building industry professionals. They are new to the industry, 30 years of age or younger, or a full time student.  The CaGBC's Emerging Green Builders are dedicated to providing the tools, information and connections that are crucial to the success of the industry’s new professionals. If you are looking to connect with other young professionals, build your network and make important industry connections – get involved with the BC Chapter of CaGBC! If you’re not already involved, details on how to become an EGB member ($35/year) can be found on our membership pages.

Emerging Green Builders Committee Information

Our EGB committee works towards increasing awareness about sustainable practices through organizing activities and events. The committee’s mission is to support the CaGBC BC Chapter’s goals of facilitating market transformation, by supporting students and new professionals through educational programs, career development opportunities and networking events. EGB is an official committee of the BC Chapter. Our committee is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers, and is headed by two co-leaders, with 8-10 members in total.  You must be an Emerging Green Builder (EGB) member of the BC Chapter to be eligible to apply.

We are looking for creative thinkers, enthusiastic and hard-working team players who are passionate about sustainability and full of bright ideas. Over the course of the year, the CaGBC will be introducing a number of new initiatives designed to engage emerging professionals and our committee will play a key role in the introduction of the new brand, services and benefits in this province. Committee members are expected to be flexible and versatile. Tasks vary and include: planning and organizing events, reaching out through social networks in active recruiting, marketing and maintaining contacts.
