Exciting career opportunity to lead a new ground-breaking program
CaGBC is seeking an agent for change, to champion the CaGBC’s efforts to dramatically reduce GHG emissions from building operations. The CaGBC’s Zero Carbon Building Program is Canada’s first green building program to make carbon emissions the key indicator for building performance. The release of the Zero Carbon Building Standard in June generated significant excitement, and with 16 pilot projects already in process, the program is at the heart of exciting, rapid changes in the industry that will drive lower carbon building operations, increased energy efficiency and the adoption of clean energy across the commercial, institutional and high-rise residential sectors.
Based in Ottawa or Vancouver, the Manager, Zero Carbon Building Program will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development and operation of the program and will represent CaGBC as a subject matter expert in ongoing dialog and consultation with industry, governments, utilities, other stakeholders and the media.
You are a passionate and innovative leader and project manager with strong strategic and business planning skills and the ability to effectively develop and deliver programs to the green building industry. You possess 5+ years experience in sustainable building design/operation or a similar role, preferably with program development and/or delivery experience. You are knowledgeable of high-efficiency low-carbon building design/operations, preferably with knowledge of on-site and off-site clean energy procurement. You are familiar with the relevant industry policies and stakeholders.
